Very recently while visiting my favorite local thrift store called Halycon, I witnessed a gentleman drop off a couple of boxes of assorted items as a donation. Lying on top of the last box was what appeared to be an old composition book much like what a student would use or scrapbook enthusiast might create. Embossed on the cover however was the tantalizing title that read, "Annual 1924" and with that I was off on another journey.
It turns out that the Annual had once belonged to a high school girl named Mabel Martin. She was born in 1910 and eventually died in South Florida in 2002 after outliving two husbands.
